Ms. Ruxton

Suzy Ruxton, MS, APRN, FNP-C, is an accomplished and dedicated nurse practitioner with more than 12 years of experience in advanced clinical practice. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across a variety of healthcare settings, earning the trust and respect of both her patients and colleagues.

She earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Wyoming, where she built a solid foundation in comprehensive primary care. Since then, Suzy has gained extensive experience working in primary care, urgent care, and specialty clinic environments. Her clinical expertise includes performing a wide range of in-office procedures, allowing her to provide efficient, hands-on care that improves patient outcomes and enhances practice capabilities.

A significant portion of Suzy’s career has been dedicated to serving within the VA Health Care System, where she has worked for over 16 years as both a registered nurse and a nurse practitioner. During her time in the VA system, she has had the privilege of caring for veterans while also contributing to procedural training and education. This experience has further strengthened her clinical skills and deepened her passion for serving others.

In addition to her clinical work, Suzy has extensive experience in education and training. She has spent years teaching primary care procedures within the VA system as well as through private continuing education programs. Known for her supportive and engaging teaching style, she is passionate about helping fellow providers build confidence, competence, and technical proficiency. She is a strong advocate for safe, evidence-based practice and strives to empower clinicians to deliver care with precision and assurance.

Suzy is deeply committed to sharing her knowledge, experience, and practical skills with colleagues, peers, and the next generation of healthcare providers. Her enthusiasm for teaching, combined with her real-world clinical background, makes her a highly effective and respected instructor.

Outside of her professional life, Suzy enjoys spending time with her family and embracing the outdoors. She loves traveling to visit loved ones, as well as hiking, running, biking, and camping. She often shares these adventures with her husband and their beloved dog, Zoe, making the most of every opportunity to stay active and connected to nature.
